  i have the option of saying happy birthday or god bless you or even singing the happy birthday song.

  example, my hubby (who was never a jw) is having a birthday today.

  now, i have no problem celebrating with him.

  the beauty of the day. any day, any where. it all has beauty. if we are open to see it. the grass, the flowers, the warmth, the rain, the snow..... we wouldn't have an opportunity to change our mind and appreciate them once again. most of all the reason is you. an individuals life affects more people than that individual thinks. so, remember that you are important to more than one person...possibly to many people. without you...things would be different for all of us. so, punch a tree, scream in the rain and cry at the movies and ENJOY IT!

  Last night I asked about getting reinstated...

  after the meeting last night italked to some of the elders in the car park, and asked what more i neede to do to get reinstated.

  they commended me on the things i've been doing (?

  ), and said the main point for reinstating would be how much contact i've been having with my fiance, who's still a wittness.

  amazing- that "men of god' act this way.---when i read that (knowing it could very well happen) i couldn't help feeling like i was watching a crime drama.

  now that i'm 'free'. i have the option of saying happy birthday or god bless you or even singing the happy birthday song. example, my hubby (who was never a jw) is having a birthday today. now, i have no problem celebrating with him. but come this weekend when his family will be celebrating at their home i know i won't be singing the song. how do i know? because last week, we were at his mothers bday party and everyone sang the song and i just couldn't do it. not because i think it was wrong. but because i was raised not to. for 33 years i haven't and to celebrate in front of people other than my husband seems weird. any thoughts?

  many good pts here. i agree that banning would be bad. it could very well lead to all sorts of religious bans. my hope is that they research, and widely publish their findings. in this manner, people could judge for themselves the destructive possibilities that could occur as a member of the jws. i liked this article because it showed a public interest in the goings on in jw world.
